Hello, and welcome back!
This year will mark the beginning of my eleventh year of teaching. I have been fortunate in that I have been able to teach a variety of social studies courses throughout my time here. This year I'll be teaching U.S. History and Ethnic Studies. In addition to my teaching duties, I am also an head boys soccer coach.
I suppose I should back track a bit and tell you a little about my background. I was born and raised here in Austin, Texas. I have a hard time imagining ever moving away as this city has always been home. I graduated from McNeil High School, and later attended Texas State University in San Marcos, where I majored in History.
My wife and I have been married for eight years, and we have two children; a 6 year-old, Jonah, and a 4 year-old, Ezra.
Outside of work I've spent most of my life playing Mens League Soccer, and while I was in college I was heavily involved with amateur boxing and was a trainer at Richard Lord's Boxing Gym for several years. Since then I've taken up rock climbing and Crossfit. I try my best to remain as active as possible outside of work. It has acted as a really great escape and stress reliever for me. More recently I've taken a heavy interest in hunting, fishing, and conservation. Just another way to escape and relieve stress.
Feel free to drop in if you have any questions or comments. Wish you all the best for the school year.
