I started my teaching career at Akins High School in January 2009. I have taught a variety of science classes from freshmen biology to pre ap physics. During my 1st run at Akins I was also the Instructional Coach for the Science department for 2 years. My true love is life science which drew me to the Biomedical Science Program. I started the biomed program in 2012. I taught the first 3 classes of the program. I left Akins in 2014 to move back to NM to be close to my family after my husband and I had our son. I did not teach while in NM. After 2 years we decided it was time to return to the Austin area. Lucky for me the biomed job was open again and I get to teach in the program I started. I love teaching and guiding students towards the solutions they are looking for. I look forward to a great year teaching Principals of the Biomedical Sciences, Human Body Systems, Medical Interventions, and the duel credit course with UT HRI. Please contact me at any time if your child needs anything.
