Autodesk Inventor Our students use real 3D engineering software! Students in the Aerospace Engineering pathway, the Civil Engineering & Architecture pathway, and the Computer Integrated Manufacturing pathway all use Autodesk Inventor. Autodesk Inventor is a 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software used by engineers in industry worldwide. Students also have the opportunity to become Autodesk Inventor Certified Users with a certification test they prepare for in one of their classes. Check out the Inventor screenshots below!
NEW 2019-2020! Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) For the first time this school year, Akins students can become LEED certified. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and provides building owners and operators a framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions. LEED is an internationally recognized certification for both architecture firms and buildings. NEW 2019-2020! Biotechnology Assistant Credentialing Exam (BACE) Also for the first time this school year, students can become certified biotechnology assistants. The BACE certification allows students to get jobs as entry level biotechnicians and work in a lab.
COMING SOON 2020-2021: Autodesk Revit Next school year students will be able to become Autodesk Revit Certified Users. Revit is a 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) software used in architecture, structural engineering, and construction.
