Results of the UIL 6A Region 4 Track & Field Meet with you. Our athletes did a tremendous job this year and overcame so much adversity. Each week they dealt with covid protocols, virtual learning, working, going to practices & taking care of their families. I'm so proud of each one of them, they all have a unique story which makes moments like these extra special. Here are the results:
400m relay team (Yadon Tramel, Ollie Mayberry, Lawrence Brown, Trystin Brown) placed 4th out of 16 teams
Mak'hi Falkquay- (3rd in 100m & 4th in 200m)
Lawrence Brown- (5th 100m & 5th in 200m (22.06- New SR) 
Bri Wilson- (6th out of 16 throwers & a new SR & PR of 124-07)
Elijah Jackson- (6th out of 16 jumpers)
The women's team placed 17th out of 33 teams!
The men's team placed 15th out of 35 teams!
The last result that I'm very excited to share with everyone is that Trystin Brown will advance to the UIL STATE Track & Field meet at the University of Texas after placing 2nd overall in the 110H with a PR & SR of 14.30!!!! Trystin will compete on Saturday, May 8th @ 5:45PM. He is the first male athlete in school history to advance to the state meet. If you have him in class, please congratulate him.
Results of the 2021 Area Track & Field Meet with everyone. The Boys team placed 5th out of 16 Teams. They placed the highest compared to all other AISD schools and best finish in school history.  The girls placed 8th out of 16 teams with only 4 girls in competition, truly amazing. Here are the individual results. (PR= Personal Record, SR= School Record).
Elijah Jackson- 2nd place in High Jump (6'4"-New PR)***Advancing to Regionals
Bri Wilson- 3rd in Discus ***Advancing to Regionals
Mak'hi Falkquay- 1st in the 100m & 200m **Advancing to Regionals
Lawrence Brown- 2nd in 100m (10.54, New PR) & 200m (PR & 21.54 & SR) **Advancing to Regionals
Trystin Brown- 1st in the 110H (14.53, new SR) **Advancing to Regionals
Boys 400m Relay Team (Yadon Tramel, Ollie Mayberry, Lawrence Brown, Trystin Brown)- Placed 3rd & broke the school record (42.5) **Advancing to Regionals
Julian Reyna- 5th in the 400m (50.51, new PR & SR, previous record stood for 7 years) **Advanced to Regionals
Teah Eveleth- 5th in PV (9'6", new PR & SR)
Out of the 10 Area athletes who competed this past week, 8 of them will advance to the Regional Championships this Friday & Saturday at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio. This is the most Regional Qualifiers we have ever had in Akins History. I am very proud of all the Coaches & Athletes for all their hard work this year. Regionals here we come!
