(Teacher of Promise is awarded to a first year teacher)

Jennifer Beam went to the University of Texas at Austin in pursuit of a Bachelors of Science Degree in Geological Sciences with a focus on geophysics. After exploring different areas of geology, Ms. Beam realized that during class, she always imagined herself in the professor's place teaching! She decided to pursue certification to teach high school math and physics which led her to Akins High School. Ms. Beam is currently finishing up a Masters in Education at Texas State and could not be happier to be an Akins Eagle!
