The Social Services Academy offers hands-on experiences in leading, teaching, counseling, serving, and helping others. This Academy supports caring students, who empathize with the needs of individuals as well as our diverse global community.

READY-SET-TEACH Major Courses:
* Child Development: Knowledge and skills related to child growth and development
* Preparation for Parenting:laboratory course provides content for students to acquire knowledge and skills related to the development and care of children.
*Ready-Set-Teach I:Field based internship which provides a background knowledge of child and adolescent development principles as well as principles of effective teaching practices.
*Ready-Set-Teach II:Continuation of Teach I it satisfies the physical education graduation requirement

PRE-MED Major Courses:
*Health Science Tech I: Develop health-care specific knowledge and skills in effective communications, ethical and legal responsibilities, client care, safety, first aid, and CPR.
*Anatomy & Physiology:In-depth study of cells and tissues and introduces anatomical terminology.
CAPSTONE COURSES:
*Manage Intern (MIP)
*Dual Credit/Enroll
*Advanced Science/Math (AP Chemistry: College level study of organic chemistry, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, etc.;AP Physics:College level study of mechanics, quantum theory; etc.; AP Biology: College level study of the chemical and structural organization of cells, evolutionary processes and more.)

HEALTH SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY Major Courses:
*Health Science Tech I: Develop health-care specific knowledge and skills in effective communications, ethical and legal responsibilities, client care, safety, first aid, and CPR.
*Health Science Tech II:Develop skills in the classroom and clinical settings that comply w/ standard precautions, practices and prescribed techniques. (2 HOURS/CREDITS)
CAPSTONE COURSE
*Health Science Tech III: Develop advanced clinical skills necessary for the health science professions or continued secondary education.
(2-3 HOURS/CREDITS)

SOCIAL SERVICE Major Courses:
*Child Development: Knowledge and skills related to child growth and development…
*Preparation for Parenting: laboratory course provides knowledge and skills related to the development and care of children.
*Psychology:Explore major psychological theories, about human behavior and development.
*Sociology:social organizations, institutions, and patterns of social relationships in different cultures.
CAPSTONE COURSES
*Community Health: Individual or group research/ service project, students will identify a health related need in the community and design and implement a project that addresses this need.
*Community Solutions: Individual or group research/ community project in which students will identify a community related need(environmental,social) and design and implement a project that addresses this need.
*AP Psychology:College level intro. To the concepts and methods of psychology.

WORLD LANGUAGES Major Courses:
**A Major consists of three courses in the same language**
Spanish III Pre-AP:Develops higher level student proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
AP Spanish IV: Prepares for the College Board AP Spanish exam.
CAPSTONE COURSE
AP Spanish V Lit.:Prepares for the College Board AP Spanish Lit. examination
